What Happened To Our “Faith”?

At what point in our lives did we lose out faith?

I’m not talking about having faith that our football team will with the premierships, or anything like that.

I am talking about our faith in something bigger than us.

Why do so many of us subscribe to WII-FM (What’s In It For Me)?

Have a look at the well known personal development coaches/teachers out there.

They all talk about “service” and helping each other.

Stoicism, which I am learning more about has the term sympatheia

“Meditate often on the interconnectedness and mutual interdependence of all things in the universe. All things are mutually woven together and therefore have an affinity for each other—for one thing follows after another according to their tension of movement, their sympathetic stirrings, and the unity of all substance.”

—Marcus Aurelius, Meditations, 6.38

I have believed that we should be weighing up the things that we do, on the greater good, rather than our own self-interest.

Though, to do this, we do need to have faith in something bigger than ourselves.
