Shade We’ll Never See

The other day, I got an email from the Daily Stoic, that was about the following Greek proverb.

A society grows great when old men plant trees whose shade they know they shall never sit in.

It seems to be a saying that so very few remember or follow.

Especially our politicians.

Instead of simply believing their spin, we need to start being skeptical about what they say.

We need to be sceptical of what they say and do.

Time to start asking ourselves are they doing what they are doing for our future, or only their re-election chances.
