That moment when the batter finally does go flat can be both painful and liberating.
For many of us, when the battery goes flat on our smart phone, it is close to be the end of the world.
We don’t know what to do with ourselves.
We feel lost.
We feel as if we have been cut off from society.
Which is the same response that a child has when the batteries go flat in a toy they are playing with.
Though, for others, the battery going flat may be the start of a short period of freedom.
It used to be a good excuse to get out of calling those people you didn’t really want to talk to.
In this hyper-connected, always on world that we live in, maybe the batteries should be going flat more often.
