What is this obsession we all have with making things harder than they need to be?
Most of the time it comes because a new industry pops up that can profit from making things more complex.
Though do they really need to be?
Sadly, cars have become so computerised and complex now, that we are no longer able to service them ourselves.
Tax legislation is that complex that we need accountants understand it all.
Industrial relations is now supposedly that complex that we need a law or HR degree to understand it.
Workplace bullying is the new profitable frontier.
Instead of telling people to be nice to each other, (follow the Golden Rule), and if they aren’t to ignore them, we now have policies for it.
Maybe we should all aim to be like Cato.
