There’s an old saying that goes something like, “you don’t really understand something until you teach it”.
I believe that there is a fair bit of truth to this, and that we should all be teaching someone what we know.
This past week, I have learnt more about Stoicism by teaching it via an email short course that I created.
I have learnt more about wood working and building things by teaching my son how to use the different tools I have.
On an awesome side note, he won’t touch any of them unless he has his hearing protection and safety glasses on. Even going mad at me the one time that I cut something without using them.
So, get out there and teach someone something.
It doesn’t have to be a big audience, or even a “real time” audience.
The only caveat is, that you know what it is that you are teaching and aren’t simply regurgitating something someone else has taught you.
